This parameter determines how much of the product\u2014in this case, Kharg Petrochemical\u2019s butane gas\u2014will transition into the vapor phase at a specified temperature (100\u00b0F). Utilizing this data allows for the selection of appropriate storage and transportation equipment to prevent potential hazards such as leakage, sudden pressure increases, and damage to industrial systems.<\/p><h3>Corrosion Number<\/h3><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the key parameters in gas analysis is the corrosion number, which indicates the potential damage a gas may cause to a metal strip. This parameter is measured based on the ASTM D1838 standard, where the metal strip used in the test is made of copper.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this test, a copper strip is exposed to butane gas under controlled conditions. After a specified period, the strip is examined for color changes and corrosion levels, and the corrosion number is determined accordingly. This parameter plays a crucial role in evaluating the purity of butane gas, as a high NVR value can lead to deposits in equipment such as regulators and burners, reduced system efficiency, and even safety issues, particularly in industrial and commercial applications where high purity is essential.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To measure the NVR value, butane gas is first liquefied. The liquid is then placed at 100\u00b0F and 1 atmosphere of pressure to allow the volatile portion to fully evaporate. This parameter is dimensionless and indicates whether a substance is lighter or heavier than water.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this analysis, the specific gravity of liquid butane relative to water is reported as 0.58, confirming that liquid butane is lighter than water and floats on its surface. This characteristic is crucial for safety and storage, as in the event of a spill in aquatic environments, butane remains on the water\u2019s surface, allowing for easier containment, collection, and prevention of widespread contamination. Additionally, in industrial processes and transportation, understanding this property helps in the design of appropriate tanks and equipment, ensuring better separation and preventing potential leakage or contamination issues.<\/p><h3>Hydrocarbons<\/h3><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the analysis report of Kharg Petrochemical\u2019s butane gas, this product has a high level of purity, with the total butane content reported at a maximum of 97%.
